Hilton Head Island, SC

The beaches around Hilton Head Island are big and beautiful and none more so than those in Sea Pines. At low tide, the beaches seem to reach out forever. The tide leaves behind tidal pools all along this stretch of beach and this one really caught my eye. The wind and water have eroded wonderful little "buttercups" in the sand and when the tide pulls out and leaves pools of seawater behind these sections of eroded beach take on a surreal appearance. The early morning light draping across the tidal pool causes the high "peaks" to really glisten.
