Ouray Ice Park is the world's first park entirely devoted to the sport of Ice Climbing. Watching these athletes do their thing in the gorge of ice is really something special. To not only have the strength to pull yourself up the side of this wall of ice with nothing more than a pair of crampons and an ice axe is a true accomplishment, to say nothing of the courage it must take just to climb down there. On my next visit to Ouray, I plan to give it a try myself... plan to, anyway!
