Mono Lake Sunrise
Eastern Sierra, CA

Mono Lake is a beautiful place to be at any time of day, but in the morning, the mountains and surrounding areas take on a surreal appearance in the glow of the early light. The alkaline columns projecting up from the lake's surface give it an otherworldly feel. The clearing storm that hung over the area on this particular morning only heightened that feeling. I have visited this spot many times and it has never failed to leave me breathless.
