After spending the morning shooting in El Cap Meadow accomplishing nothing but destroying a perfectly good pair of shoes and obtaining about 30 bug bites, I decided to try and salvage the morning by making the short walk to Lower Yosemite Falls. It was about the right time of day to potentially get a rainbow at the base of the fall so I figured what the heck. Was I surprised to find not just one rainbow at the base but two! The fall was flowing strongly and the overspray was quite large, but with a little bit of coordination with a chamois cloth over my lens, I was able to get this shot with the lens dry. I moved around and shot from several positions filling up two 2GB compact flash cards and came away with about 400 shots of the fall to choose from. In my opinion, this was a keeper!
