Paper
choices:
I am currently offering
three different paper choices for fine art prints. They are all the
highest quality papers but each has a slightly different look and feel,
so ultimately, the paper you choose will depend entirely on your
personal preference and how you intend to display your print. The paper
choices are, listed from lowest cost to highest:
Epson Premium Luster: This
instant drying paper produces vivid, lifelike images that rival those of
traditional silver halide prints. Premium Luster Photo Paper delivers
highly saturated prints by offering maximum ink coverage and a high
D-Max for true photographic reproductions. Its 10-mil RC base gives
prints a photographic feel, and keeps the paper cockle-free.
Fuji Flex SuperGloss printed using
a traditional chemical process: This is the glossiest paper you can
use -- there's no other material like it! SuperGloss offers the deepest
and richest colors, and incredible shadow detail. It practically glows
with light from within. The surface is similar to Ilfochrome papers that
have been popular with professional photographers for years.
DAS GEO Glossy Water Resistant
Canvas printed with Epson Wide-format Inkjet: Gives the artwork the
feel and texture of canvas. This glossy canvas has excellent color
fidelity and depth, helping to reproduce the subtleties of the image.
Framing choices:
I offer a few different choices in framing styles at this time: 1)
Traditional framing with a single or double-mat with the print behind
glass (offered only for the Luster and SuperGloss papers), 2) A
glassless presentation where the print is framed without a mat or glass
and the print comes all the way to the edge of the frame (all paper
choices), and 3) Another glassless presentation with not mat, no glass
but there is a small (generally 1/2 inch) gap between the edge of the
print and the frame, so the print appears to "float" inside the frame. I
will be uploading images of the frames I am currently offering in
the near future and will be constantly adding to the list as I discover
new frames that I think you might like. For the glassless, "float"
presentation (number 3 above), I only offer a few frames because it has
to be a specific type of molding to produce the float affect and so far,
I have only found a few that work really well.
Mat Board choices:
I offer two options for matting your print for the traditional framing
option (the glassless presentation options make use of no mat board).
The first choice is to use a single, 8-ply white mat board and the
second choice is to go with a double-mat using 4-ply mat board, in just
about any color combination you choose. I can make suggestions as to
which colors I would match with the print, but ultimately, the decision
is yours, and the responsibility as well. If you want to see the mat
samples, perhaps you can make arrangements to visit a local frame shop
to view samples of mat board. I can tell you which brand and type of
board to look at and then you can provide me with the stock number of
the board you choose.
One last note on framing materials...
I use only museum, conservation grade materials and processes to make
the prints and frame them. All mat board and mount materials are
acid-free and have the highest archival rating available. Except on the
glassless presentation framing options, I use a conservation mounting
process where the print is NOT permanently mounted to the mount board.
This is so that the print may someday be removed from the mount without
damaging it. This allows the print to expand and contract freely inside
the frame as temperature changes, preserving the longevity of the print
even further. For glassless presentations, the print must be permanently
mounted to the mount board (since there is no glass to hold it in!).
Print sizes:
I have several standard print sizes and they are listed below. However,
I can make a print just about any size you want it, up to about 34" x
50". Any larger would require some experimentation and would ultimately
depend upon how you intended to display the image. Here are the standard
sizes I offer. Note that the print size does not correspond to how much
displayable image there is. Each image is slightly smaller than the
overall print/paper size so as to allow a small border for handling and
to allow the full-frame image to be displayed without cropping. Some
print sizes are cropped, however, and these sizes are denoted with an
asterisk (*). Note, also, that not all images are available in the
larger print sizes. With few exceptions, everything is available as
large as 24" x 32", but many images are not available at the 34" x 50"
size (or anything larger than 24" x 32"). Let me know which image you
are looking at and I can let you know immediately whether it can be
printed in the larger sizes.

Here is my current pricing for
the standard options discussed on this page. Any
custom orders will be priced at the time of the
order. The first table lists the print only
price while the second table lists the framing
cost. For framed prints, you must add the two
together to get the total price.
