Artist Bio/Mission Statement
“Everybody needs
beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may
heal and give strength to body and soul alike.”
--John Muir , The
Yosemite (1912)

I have been a photographer for most of life. I started
photographing people and events in my hometown of Evansville, IN when I
was a very young teenager. My mother conveyed upon me, my first 35mm SLR
camera, along with a lot of advice on how to use it, when I was around
14 years old and my passion quickly began to grow. After a number of
years working as a database programmer for a living, I finally decided
to take the plunge and turn professional - and I have never looked back!
Even though I have been a photographer at various levels for over 25
years, my passion for it has never been stronger than it is today... and
it is still growing!
When I first turned professional, my vision was to do
nothing but nature photography. But, as I learned more and more about
this art form, I began to fall in love with many other disciplines of
the art. New things began to present themselves to me and today, I will
shoot just about anything people ask me to shoot! Many photographers
choose one discipline over another because that's the area that piques
their interest. But for me, my interest is in the photography itself.
The challenges that varying subjects present to photography are what get
me excited about my work, and that further involves me in the subject of
the work, as well.
Today, my primary focuses in photography lie in the
realms of wedding
photography, commercial & architectural photography, and
sports/action photography,
but I also take portraits and still do the occasional art show where I
share my fine art nature prints with anyone interested in stopping by my
booth. Wedding photography is the newest discipline to my business and
it has been one of the most rewarding areas of photography I have ever
been a part of.
My goals with photography are simple... to deliver
something that is fresh and unique, and brings the most enjoyment
possible to my client, whether that client is a large company, a parent
or a wedding couple. And also, to enjoy myself!
So, please, take a few moments to browse through the
images and info on this web site and give me a call for your next
photographic need... and let me share my "LightVision" with you!
